This project had 3 main challenges to overcome: balancing the weight of the bridge in mid-air, the variation of the post-tension cable installation according to the construction phases, and finally the middle span, which is much longer than the adjacent spans.

The Project
What?
This project had 3 main challenges to overcome: balancing the weight of the bridge in mid-air, the variation of the post-tension cable installation according to the construction phases, and finally the middle span, which is much longer than the adjacent spans.
How?
Backfill was placed as a counterweight in the back spans in closed sections. 48 cables were installed to retain the segments in the first stage, then 8 cables were added once the 2 bridges were linked in the middle, and finally continuous cables were installed from the beginning to the end of the bridge.
